Overview of all Avara components

Here you will find an overview of all components in the Avara alarm system. Components can be ordered as additions or replacements for components supplied in the alarm packages. It is important to remember that you always start with a complete package, and possibly expand from it.

Contact us at Avara if you have any questions about expansions and the use of individual components!

Components

Main unit

The alarm's main control panel and is used to operate the alarm/night alarm inside the motorhome/caravan. Contains motion detector (PIR), CO detector and smoke detector, humidity and temperature sensor in addition to G-shock sensor. The combination of CO detector and smoke detector increases safety for early detection of fire. The CO detector and smoke detector are alwaysonand are not switched off when the alarm is deactivated. The main unit is placed above the living room door in your motorhome/caravan.

External detector

Exterior detectors alert you to unwanted guests outside in Night Alarm mode. The detectors are mounted high up on the exterior wall on each side of the motorhome/caravan so that they cover all doors.

The detectors contain a motion detector that detects movement within approx. 1 - 1.5 meters from the wall and approx. 3 meters to each side. LED light turns on in the event of movement. Two exterior detectors are included in the basic package, and more can be ordered if required, for example for long cars/vehicles.

When Smart Night Alarm or Intruder Alarm is activated, one LED on each detector flashes to show that this vehicle has an active alarm.

The detector can also be used to monitor bicycle racks (night alarm). The detectors have an internal battery with a long life expectancy.

Propane gas detector

The propane gas detector is connected to a constant 12V power supply and is mounted down by the floor (5-15 cm above the floor). The detector is not switched off when the alarm is deactivated, but is always on for increased security.

A smart function provides a delay of 1 minute before an alarm is sent when gas is detected. This ensures that the accidental, brief and harmless presence of gas does not create unnecessary alarm situations.

The device has a power saving mode that ensures that the battery is not drained when the motorhome/caravan is not in use. You can also connect a backup battery if you remove the main battery during storage.

The detector does not work alone, but must be paired with the Avara main unit in order to sound an alarm.

Modem

The modem communicates with Avara's cloud solution. Alarm messages and notifications are sent to wherever the owner of the system chooses. The modem also contains a GPS unit for tracking/locating the motorhome/caravan.

The device has a power saving mode that ensures that the battery does not discharge when the motorhome/caravan is not in use. You can also connect your own battery backup in case you remove the main battery during storage.

Moisture sensors

The humidity sensors measure relative humidity (RH%) and temperature once a day inside the structure where they are installed. They send this data to My Page at www.avara.no, which you can access when you subscribe.

12 sensors are included in the basic package, and more can be ordered if required. The location is determined by your dealer, who has experience of where your motorhome/caravan is most exposed to moisture and where water/moisture collects. Moisture sensors are installed by a trained dealer. The starting point for installing the sensors is the places where a manual moisture measurement is normally carried out.

The sensors have an internal battery with a life expectancy of over 15 years.

Siren controller

The siren driver is the control unit and power source for the external siren that is triggered in the event of a break-in. It contains AA batteries and should therefore never be connected to an external power source.

The siren driver is mounted concealed together with the siren. It is recommended to mount the siren indoors.

Siren

The siren is connected directly to the siren driver and placed together with it. The siren gives a loud audible warning when the intruder alarm is triggered (it is not used in Night alarm mode).

Universal gas detector

Avara's universal gas detector reacts to a number of different gases, including what is often called "narcotic gas".
We have made it "smart" so that it is only active when the Smart Night alarm is activated. This reduces false alarms from normal fumes/gases that may be present in a motorhome/caravan. The detector is connected to a constant 12V power source and placed high on the wall inside the motorhome/caravan. The alarm is notified to the Avara main unit.

The detector does not work alone, but must be paired with the Avara main unit in order to sound an alarm.

Avara black covers for detectors

For those who want the detectors to blend in more with the interior, we have black covers for the intruder detectors and the main unit. You can easily replace the cover on the intruder detector yourself, and you can do the same for the main unit if you're a bit "technical".
