The alarm components use very little power, and the modem and propane gas detector have power-saving functions that allow them to be connected to the house battery throughout the winter - without the risk of draining the battery. Avara also offers a 6V back-up battery pack, which can power the modem and propane gas detector if the car battery is removed for maintenance charging.
